Happy Summer Solstice! May our positivity and voices increase the light, driving out all darkness. Wishing peace, human rights and love for everyone in the world.
Enjoying the journey of playing live with amazing and talented musicians, performing, jamming, and working on a new dance track.
Special thanks to Miranda and staff at the Langley Times newspaper for supporting singing and the arts in the community. Here are some great articles they have written regarding my singing classes in Fort Langley, that were in their paper.
Hope everyone is having a great New Year! To celebrate this New Year, I decided to learn something new, which turned out to be classic jazz and rhythm & blues songs from the past, such as Nat King Cole, Natalie Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Skeeter Davis and more. I studied these songs with fellow vocalists as well as adult students. This was inspired by singing with soul brothers who sang this style well, and after I heard it, I studied it and love singing these songs too. I look forward to singing and sharing these songs with others.
Thanks as well to the dragon boaters who invited my Fort Langley vocal group to sing for everyone that gathered from the community, as Santa’s boat arrived on the Fraser River. Joy was in the air!
One of my vocal groups and I had so much fun performing two shows back to back, singing classic carols for the old-fashioned Christmas show at Historic Stewart Farm. It was a nostalgic and memorable event, complete with hot apple cider and figgy pudding.

Blessings, Rhayne.

Proud to announce my new CD, just released today, entitled “Rhayne Rocks.” This CD has awesome original songs with catchy, yet powerful melodies, great vocals, amazing guitar lines, and lyrics that resonate with the soul. The vocals and instruments blend these original, harmonic rock songs, with hues of blues, pop, and jazz like a well-woven tapestry, to create an uplifting atmosphere that delights your senses tastefully throughout. This is a must have for your music collection!

Had the joy of viewing the solar eclipse through a welding lens (to protect the eyes) at a local park, and shared the terrific view of the eclipse through this lens with everyone who gathered at the park, to witness this awesome, celestial event. This fostered a great sense of community. It was amazing to watch!

Had so much fun touring through the province of Saskatchewan with my mom and best friend, to visit relatives, and to visit a healing spa at Little Manitou Lake that is 3 times saltier than the ocean. What an experience to swim in such an extremely buoyant lake! Also got to see the cool underground tunnels in Moose Jaw, where Al Capone actually transported alcohol during the prohibition. They have great groups of live actors performing these stories as if they were happening as you tour the tunnels with them.

Some of my students from Surrey Arts Centre and Fleetwood Community Centre got together to perform for the seniors at Elim Village, which made everyone’s day a little brighter.

Many of my adult singing students and myself, had the honour of performing, by singing for the “Dove Release Ceremony,” where a dove is released in honour of those who have crossed-over.
I released a dove in honour of my beloved son Luke, the joy of my life, kind, honest and wise, who passed from an illness in 2007. He will always be my hero, and is deeply loved and missed. I also released the dove in honour of my brave cousin Daryl. It was a sacred day filled with many emotions, love, tears, joy, light and serenity.
I would like to especially thank my family, and relatives who travelled a long ways to be there for me, as well as friends and students who attended and supported me on this heartfelt day. Also, special thanks to Tricia and Rebecca from the Surrey Hospice Society, for hosting this event. The Dove Release Ceremony is very healing, whether your loss is recent or years ago.

Happy summer everyone! I look forward to sharing the news about some new music soon, and about a book that I have written and am currently finishing.
In the summer, we start thinking of great things like swimming, hiking, beaches and all of the wonderful things we do during this time. Summer also makes me think of water, and how precious water really is. One of my most favourite, and I feel one of the most important elements that we need to watch carefully and preserve, is our water resources.
This morning I watched a video regarding the plastic bottles that bottled water is contained in. I was very surprised to learn about the plastics they use for bottled water, how toxic it is for the physical body, and how damaging it is for the ecology. As I always tell my singing students to bring bottled water to drink when I teach my singing and voice injury prevention classes, I am having a rethink about how I ask my students to bring bottled water. Now, I am going to ask them to bring bottled water in a different container that is safer, that can be washed, and does not end up in our landfills. That way it will be safer for them, the planet, and keep my singers hydrated.
I thought it was important enough to share this with everyone. Check it out.
Take care, and lots of love.

I would like to thank Tanya Tighe and the Abbotsford School District, for inviting me to lecture and teach Voice Injury Prevention, for school teachers, on their Professional Development Day held on February 19th, 2016. I also implemented my “Rhayne Method,” which is not only ideal for preventing voice injury for singers, but also for people who use their voice for public speaking and lecturing professionally. The school teachers I met, who were all teaching different grade levels in the public school system, are amazing and wonderful people, and do such a great service for their communities, as children are our future. With my nursing background and my years of singing professionally, I developed the “Rhayne Method” and would love to teach a group for you. If you have a group of professionals or singers, choirs, bands, or recording artists, that could benefit from a Voice Injury Prevention class that I tailor for each group’s needs, please contact me through the contact page of this website.
